The A330 is quite popular among airliners. The performance of this aircraft is robust. There are 2 models the -200 and the -300. Difference is the length, seating capacity and the range. It could be mixed up with B777 but can be differentiate by the main landing gears. B777 has 6 wheels bogey whereby the A330 has 4 wheels bogey. Also B777 does not have winglets.

A340 is big and it has 4 engines. In-service since 1991. It can be easily identify by the following: Winglets, 4 engines and 3 sets of main landing gears. 2 outboard and 1 in the middle. There are 4 versions, namely: -200; -300; -500;-600. For the -600 is the longest version and it has a special indicator in the PFD (Primary Flight Dispaly) to prevent tail strike when the aircraft rotates (Nose up for take-off).

For the A340-500, Singapore Airlines used it for its longest flight in the world from Newark (USA) to Singapore. (8,285 nm) Total flight time is around 18 hours. Its configuration is all 100 seats business class only. (Because it has to carry full fuel instead of more payload) This service has been cancelled since Oct 2012.

The A350 XWB (eXtra Wide Body) is the Airbus answer to Boeing's 777. It features extra wide body to let passengers feel more spacious. The first airline (Launch customer is Qatar Airways in Jan 2015).

You can identify this aircraft by it unique cockpit windows, it looks like a cool black sunglasses and the 2 x 4 wheels bogeys. It has the blended wings. There are 3 versions planned, namely -800; -900; -1000.

Singapore Airlines is considering to re-launch the longest flight from Newark - Singapore with the A350-900 ULR version.

The A380 in my opinion is the ultimate dream by Airbus to build an aircraft to fight for the biggest aircraft in commercial plane. It is larger than a Boeing 747. The design of the wing is so good that originally didn't plan for any thrust-reverser (To slow down the aircraft during landing roll) but later decided it can help to slow-down when the runway is slippery. There are only 2 thrust-reverser and it is installed in the in-board engine. (In-board means nearer to the cabin). The size of the elevators is actually the size of the wings for the A320s.

There are 2 versions planned, namely -800 and -900. As of the time of this publication (2016), there is only -800 in operation and production.
